Project Mega-Thor II

Starting in 2007, I rebuilt the Mega-Thor again to launch at MDRA's Red Glare events.  I built it stronger

using more fiberglass layers.

I first flew it at Red Glare III in Apr 2007 on an experimental N3500 using Wimpy Red propellant.  It was

a great flight and great recovery.  Here are some photos.

I flew it again at Red Glare IV in Apr 2008.  There I flew it on an experimental N5500 using a 77/5 propellant. 

The up was great, the drogue deployed at apogee, but the main never pulled out of its deployment bag.  The

pilot chute did not emerge from its Kevlar heat shield.  It was at this launch that I retired it for good...  Here
